so there's about 28 feet of wire between the amp and the speakers.

So that is a 56 foot loop the signal must travel thru to make a complete circuit.

What characteristic of the sound do you suppose adding another 56 feet of circuit is going to improve?

What are you using for speaker wire?

A 28 foot long speaker wire run for hifi is the kind of thing that would keep me up at night, actually it's just something i would not do.

Ideally, you want speaker wire runs to be as short as practically possible.

Yup it is a good site.I've had this bookmarked myself for quite some time.Lot's of good articles/links on there.
